Annual Reports
It is with great pride that we present the Annual Report of
the Housing Authority of the City of Winston-Salem (HAWS). This is an exciting
time for the staff and commissioners of HAWS. Recent changes in the public housing
industry and in policies of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
have given local housing authorities nationwide increased control over and responsibility
for administration of the services they provide. For HAWS, that flexibility in
customizing services has resulted in stringent self-assessment... challenging
goal setting . . . and an encouraging glimpse of very promising results.
