Human Resources' mission is to provide professional human resource management
services, ensuring equal opportunity in the recruitment, selection, placement
and retention of qualified individuals. This department also monitors programs
and activities to ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws,
regulations, and guidelines. There is also the administration and planning of
all aspects of the Housing Authority's internal and external communication activities,
projects, and programs that serve to maintain positive levels of public awareness
that will promote community support. This department continues to serve as a
primary resource for matters relating to public affairs involving communication
with the media and other agencies.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Wage and salary administration
- Employee benefits administration
- Employee relations and communications
- Training and staff development
- Affirmative action and EEO programs
- Personnel records and activities
- Coordinate payroll functions
- Coordinates the legal aspect of claims (including worker's compensation and
lawsuits)
- Special events coordination
