Family Self-Sufficiency Program
The Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) an opportunity for residents to
become economically and socially independent. All residents participating in
the program must sign a five- year contract of Participation. Case managers work
closely with the resident in coordinating the delivery of community and supportive
services, which include referrals for job training and placement, education,
transportation, child care, financial and various counseling services.
As an incentive for residents, an escrow Account is established for them once
they have obtained an increase in earned income. Residents will receive the money
in the account upon completing the goals of the Service Plan and once they are
off all forms of federal, state and local welfare assistance.
The FSS Program is available to residents in all of the public housing developments
